Abstract

In the present research work, nanocomposite of graphene-chitosan quantum dots (GQDs-CS) was synthesized by hydrothermal method. The synthesized nanocomposite was studied by various methods including scanning electron microscopy, field emission microscopy, energy diffraction X-ray spectroscopy and UV spectroscopy. This nanocomposite has been used as a modifier in the preparation of modified electrodes. The electrochemical behavior of acetaminophen on a glass-carbon carbon electrode modified with graphene-chitosan quantum dot nanocomposite was studied and it was observed that this sensor has a good electrocatalytic behavior for the oxidation of this drug. The electrochemical activity of the modified electrode for the acetaminophen oxidation was studied using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. Using the method of differential pulse voltammetry, the analytical signal is linear in the range of 0.30 to 65μM and the detection limit was 0.24. The modified electrode was successfully used to determination of acetaminophen in drug and human blood serum samples.
