Abstract

In this research, phenolate derivatives Schiff base ligands (HLBAIC): ((E)-2,4-di-tert-butyl-6-((pyridine-2-ylmethylene)amino)phenol), (LSAL): (2-((E)-((2-Hydroxyphenyl)imino) methyl)-6-methoxyphenol) and (LTPH): (2,2'-((1E,1'E)-(1,4-phenylenebis(methanylylidene)) bis(azanylylidene))diphenol) were prepared, then their praseodymium and samarium complexes were synthesized. The synthesized ligands and complexes were characterized by using elemental analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy techniques. Also, the fluorescence and UV-Vis properties of synthesized compounds were compared and investigated. Among the synthesized compound the complexes with (HLBAIC) ligand showed the highest fluorescence intensity that it can attributed to the very rigid structure of this ligand. The fluorescence intensity of praseodymium complex with (HLBAIC) ligand and samarium complex with (HLBAIC) ligand increased and the fluorescence intensity of samarium complex with (LSAL) ligand and praseodymium complex with (LTPH) ligand decreased. The Similar fluorescence spectrum pattern of complexes with the same ligand indicate the ligand-oriented behavior of fluorescence in these complexes.
