In the present work, a simple and rapid technique of thermal dispersive microextraction based on ionic liquid (TDMS-IL) was developed for preconcentration and determination of manganese in aqueous samples prior to analysis by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The effects of different parameters such as, pH and type and volume of ionic liquid, concentration of ligand, rate and time of centrifugation and temperature were studied and optimized. Under the optimum condition the limit of detection and linear rang of the method were 2.6 and 10-126 µg L-1 respectively. The applied of the proposed method was determined by determination of manganese ion concentration in different water samples.
