In this research, cobalt oxide (Co3O4) nanoparticles were successfully prepared by solid state thermal decomposition of cobalt(II) Schiff base complexes [Co(Me2salpn)(py)] and [Co(Me2salpn)(pip)] at 450 ºC for 3.5 h. They were characterized by using FT-IR, XRD and SEM. The SEM images of complexes and Co3O4 nanoparticles show the nanosized particles between 75 â 150 nm.
